The living room is the heart of a house. It is the center of private family gatherings and protects the family’s everyday life from various noises from the outside while being the smallest of community spaces. It also acts as an open point of contact with the outside world by entertaining visiting guests, connects with external communities, and becomes a space that manifests the residents’ own imagery to the outside.
The 20 living rooms presented in GA HOUSES 134 is a selection from the archive of residences featured in GA HOUSES during the 1980’s, whose originality of design and comfort haven’t lost their luster to this day. They are presented here with a belief that their level of concentration and preparation still hold valid as reference points today.
