Patrick Van Caeckenbergh: Guide de haute montagne (1990) Uitverkoop

Very rare publication / artist’s book produced for the exhibition “And then, why are we made of meat?” by Belgian artist Van Caeckenbergh  at “Le Creux de l’Enfer” in Thiers, from July 8, 1990, to September 30, 1990. It takes the form of a gridded map marked with reference points, to which an index refers. The map’s background is a full-page photograph of a snow-covered mountain, onto which the artist has drawn lines resembling blue or red ski runs, arranged small logos, and included 15 cut-outs/collages. The index, printed on the reverse, lists these collages with their captions, the date of their creation, and their position on the map indicated by a letter and a number.
