The MIC International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza continues its program of valorizing the personalities and great manufacturers that built the Made in Italy ceramics. After Lenci and Chini, it is now the turn of Gio Ponti.
The publication represents the first monographic volume dedicated to Gio Ponti (Milan, 1891-1979), one of the greatest popularizers of Made in Italy since the 1920s, when he became artistic director of Richard Ginori, starting a renewal of production.
Architect, designer and intellectual, he was a reference for the constitution of an Italian “style” of decorative arts: the volume represents an unmissable opportunity to delve into the central role he played in the cultural debate and in the definition of Italian rationalism.
